Effective fundraising plan development requires a deep understanding of the organization's needs and goals, as well as an assessment of the organization's resources and capacity to fundraise. It involves identifying and prioritizing potential funding sources, such as foundations, government agencies, corporations, or individual donors, and developing a plan to approach and engage these sources. And it’s something the most effective nonprofits do with intentionality every year.
Through my work as both a nonprofit professional and volunteer, I have been a part of creating diverse and attainable fundraising plans by assessing organizational needs, and executing tactics to fill those fundraising needs. From annual giving program approaches, to well-thought-out major gift development strategies, I have been able to help organizations raise more money, optimize their donor relationships, and reach their full potential.
