about me
PASSIONATE ABOUT INSPIRING OTHERS
I started my career working part time for the Altoona School District developing family-community-school partnerships. From there I was recruited to serve as Executive Director of the Family Resource Center for Eau Claire County where I worked for three and a half years, developing the nonprofit’s funding and communications infrastructure. Next, I spent 13 ½ years as the Foundation Director for HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital focused on fund development, from annual giving to major gifts and planned giving. Since 2019, I’ve served as CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Chippewa Valley, growing the capacity of the organization to serve community needs.
Mixed in with my professional service I’ve also actively participated as a member and a leader in local service clubs including Rotary and Kiwanis, nonprofit boards Joshua’s Camp and Family Resource Center, Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce Leadership Eau Claire program, and Eau Claire Community Foundation’s Women’s Giving Circle.
In 2019 I formed AMK Nonprofit Coaching, to better respond to requests to offer my experience to benefit nonprofit organizations in the fulfillment of their missions. Clients have included the Eau Claire County Humane Association, Chippewa Valley Museum, Wisconsin Logging Museum, Visit Eau Claire, Eau Claire Jazz, Eau Claire Chamber, and United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley. I have presented at UW Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls Chamber Nonprofit Roundtable, and Royal Credit Union’s mentoring programs. Other organizations supported include Acres for Joy, The HUB, Trout Unlimited, and Power of Perception.
As a nonprofit leader, fundraising professional and community volunteer, I have more than 20 years of experience in developing and implementing strategy in both small and large organizations. Having raised millions of dollars over my career, I have successful experience with annual giving strategies, major gift development, public and private grant funding, and capital campaigns. I’ve worked with boards, leaders, staff and volunteers to help organizations effectively implement their mission and service to the community.
Let’s have a cup of coffee and see how I can help you.
